Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Signa App mobile application and related services (the "Service") operated by Signa App ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. The Service

Signa App is a workforce management tool for contractors. It provides time tracking, job-site geofencing, live activity, team messaging ("Signa App Talk"), notifications, and payroll export. Features available to you depend on your subscription plan and role.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service. By using it, you represent that you meet this requirement and that the information you provide is accurate.

3. Accounts & roles

  • Admins create and control a company account, invite employees, and are responsible for the company's use of the Service and its subscription.
  • Employees join a company using an invite code and use the Service to clock in/out, view their hours, and communicate with their team.
  • You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account. One email may be associated with one account.
  • To protect accounts, sign-ins are limited by role: an employee may be signed in on one device at a time, and an admin on up to three. Signing in on a new device beyond the limit signs out the oldest one. Sharing accounts is not permitted.

4. Plans, trials & billing

  • New companies receive a 7-day free trial, free for up to 5 employees.
  • A valid payment method is required to start the trial. Your paid subscription begins automatically when the trial ends — or immediately if you add a 6th employee before then, since the free trial covers up to 5 employees. You can cancel anytime before billing starts.
  • Crew is $29/month (or $290/year) for up to 10 employees. Company is $29/month plus $6/month for each active employee beyond 10 (or $290/year plus $60/year per employee beyond 10). The base price already includes your first 10 employees; only seats beyond 10 add the per-seat amount. Annual plans receive two months free.
  • Billing is handled by Stripe and is based on your active employee count. Archived employees are not billed. You can cancel anytime; access continues until the end of the paid period.
  • Except where required by law, fees already paid are non-refundable.
  • If a payment fails, we provide a short grace period with reminders. After the grace period, premium features pause until payment is restored. Employees can still clock in/out and keep their history; admins keep access to historical data and exports.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to: (a) use the Service for any unlawful purpose; (b) attempt to breach or circumvent security or billing; (c) reverse-engineer, copy, or resell the Service; (d) upload unlawful, harmful, or infringing content; or (e) harass or harm others. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

6. Location & monitoring

The Service uses device location to verify job-site presence at clock-in and, for employees who grant "Always" access, to record whether they leave or return to the site while clocked in (so admins can see off-site time during a shift) and to provide optional arrive/leave reminders that may run while the app is closed. By using the Service as an employee, you acknowledge this monitoring. Admins can view employees' work activity, including off-site time during shifts, and are responsible for complying with applicable employment and privacy laws in their jurisdiction. Admins also configure certain work and pay settings — for example, whether breaks are paid and the paid-break time limit — and are responsible for ensuring those settings comply with applicable wage-and-hour laws.

7. Your content & data

You and your company own your data. You grant us a limited license to host and process it solely to operate the Service, as described in our Privacy Policy. You can export or delete your data from the app.

8. Intellectual property

The Service, including its software, design, and the Signa App name and logo, is owned by us and protected by law. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks or branding.

9. Third-party services

The Service relies on third parties (e.g. Google Firebase, Stripe, Apple). Your use may also be subject to their terms. We are not responsible for third-party services.

10. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free. Time and payroll data are tools to assist you — you are responsible for verifying records used for pay.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Signa App will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost profits or data, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

12. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or to protect the Service.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia, Canada, without regard to conflict of law rules. Disputes will be handled in the courts located in British Columbia.

14. Changes

We may update these Terms. Material changes are indicated by the "Last updated" date above. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
